When posting a treat, remember to fill in your recipient's name (you can copy and paste it from the collection profile page, if it has unusual formatting).


I'm excited and I hope you are too. We're still working on tags (thank you hhertzof, Nary, Measured_Words); please contact me if your tags are mysteriously not showing up. As usual, I will post a Youtube playlist of all the songs that were written for - and have Youtube sources - before go-live.

The assignment deadline has passed. Works will go live at 5:59pm EDT on June 4.

If you missed it by accident and meant to complete your work, you can still submit your work to the collection as a treat.

If you're not sure how to tag your work, the formats in the tag set are a good guide. If your work isn't showing up on the fandoms page and you think it should be, please email me.

Countdown to deadline

If you don't think you can complete your work, please default (you can press Default next to your assignment on AO3) and I will ask pinch hitters to cover the assignment you are relinquishing. People default for many reasons; you don't need to let me know yours. I am concerned only with where pinch hits are needed.

However, I hope that applies to very few people, and that most participants are either done, nearly done, or convinced they will be very soon be nearly done. ^!^ (I am in the latter category.)

*This works both for assignments and treats. If you are posting your assignment, look for the question on the form, under Associations, that says "Does this fulfil a challenge assignment?" and enter a tick for the appropriate assignment. If you have previously posted an AO3 assignment and are familiar with the procedure, use the method you prefer! You can continue to edit your work at any time after posting it.

There may be an issue with new fandoms being wrangled so that they appear on the fandoms page of the collection while works are still unrevealed and/or anonymous. I'm looking into it and will let you know what I know.

There are no initial pinch hits. Quite a few people could only match to one recipient, or to one writer, but you could all match to SOMEONE, in both directions, so thank you all for keeping an eye on the sign-up summary and making sure this was so.

I hope you enjoy your assignment! It should be visible at your account on archiveofourown.org, and it will have been emailed to the email associated with your AO3 account if you have this kind of email enabled. You can also see it on the collection sidebar, when logged in.

Countdown to end of sign-up period

The majority of offers and requests concern fanfic. If you want to sign up offering mostly podfic or art, feel free to ask me (jukebox.mod@gmail.com) about which canons in the sign-up summary have podfic or art requests, and I will give you as accurate an answer as I can at the time.

If you are working on a letter, please complete it by the end of 10 April in your time zone. Assignments should go out at some point between sign-ups closing and 8 April. Usually, Jukebox assignments go out very soon after sign-ups close - if there is a reason for an unusual delay, I'll let you know.

Here is the sign-up form. Welcome to this year's challenge! Sign-ups will close at 11:59PM EDT 6 April (see what time that is for you).

Please skim the rules and schedule before signing up. The rules are a little different every year.

You can request 3-8 canons, and offer 3-10 canons. If a canon doesn't appear in the drop-down menu when you go to enter it, you can copy and paste it from the tag set and press enter.

Each of your requests and offers must be tagged with 1-3 of the labels "Fanfic", "Podfic", and "Fanart".

If you wish to offer podfic and you want to team up with someone else for writing or recording, you can indicate your interest at this Dreamwidth post or this LiveJournal post.

Your requests have a space for optional details. Your gift creator doesn't have to follow your prompts. They do have to respect any Do-Not-Wants (like "no pregnancy" "no scat" "no rainbows").

Your requests also have a space for a letter link, if you want to provide one. I will put up letter posts shortly. If you are writing a letter, please have it complete and unlocked by the end of 10 April.

I will make requests visible on AO3 when the assignments go out - they are set to not-visible for now.


An ineligible canon
It seems I approved Dvořák's New World Symphony and I shouldn't have - that is too long. Sorry. I am removing it from the tag set and the tables, but if the nominator wishes to make an argument that a single movement stands on its own sufficiently, I'll put it back in. Jukebox pieces need to be 20 minutes or shorter.
