Nominations are now closed--thanks to everyone who nominated!

We still have a couple of queries about nominated songs.

Allies With Benefits (Demo) - Elliot Valentine Lee and Mel Hornyak (Song)--is there a link to the demo version, that's not a clip from the musical?

Similarly, Sorry-Grateful - Company (2007) (Song)--does this refer to the cast recording from the 2006 Broadway version, or is it the 2007 Australian version, or something else?

We'd appreciate more information about both of these before we confirm them.

Thanks for all your nominations so far! Please keep them - and the links - coming!

Nominations will close at 11:59pm EDT, Sunday 16 April (and see countdown).

Query
We've had a nomination for The Planets - Holst (Orchestral Suite). Orchestral music is eligible, but works nominated for Jukebox must be 20 minutes or shorter. If there is a movement from this piece that you feel can stand alone, you're welcome to nominate that.

Queries

I have a nomination for From the Choirgirl Hotel - Tori Amos (Album) - I'm open to song cycles or linked music videos, but they have to be under 20 mins total. Nominator, unless I've misunderstood and this album is a) a concept album and b) under 20 mins in length, could you please change your nomination to something else?

I have another nomination for Why Are You Looking For Me - Ramblin Jack (Song). My google fu is failing me and I can't find this. Could I get some tips, please?

1. Thank you - the vast majority of nominations have come in the requested format of TITLE - ARTIST (MEDIUM). This makes it faster and simpler for me to approve, and it's helpful for tag sets going forward.

2. Thank you to those who have provided links for your nominations. That is particularly appreciated! Creating the tables of all canons is a 6- to 9-hour process [even allowing for my lack of spreadsheet wizardry, there is a lot of copying and pasting], and links help move that piece of work towards the 6-hour end.

3. I have one nomination so far I'm confused by: A Passion Play - Jethro Tull (Song). This appears to either be an album, or one of the two halves of that album. Each of the two halves of the album is over 20 minutes. Nominator, could you clarify please?

4. See countdown to end of this year's nominations, at end of day in EDT, March 22nd.

5. How to Nominate is on DW and on LJ.

Because if you're like me, your eyes glaze over when you try to read the blocks of text on AO3.

The list is alphabetical by songs. I apologise for any alphabetisation errors, especially in anything not English. (Tips on ordering Hebrew appreciated.)

Currently approved canons )

I will continue to update this.

I added everything that had a youtube video linked in the list. If I have missed anything, or you have something you would like added that didn't have a linked video, let me know here and I can put it on. I made a few substitutions when videos were not available in the US.

How to Nominate on AO3 )

Once you have nominated (Part 2)

While I'm approving and cleaning up the nominations, please comment or email with:
-the name of the song
-some online form (YouTube link, etc)
-the genre of the song, if known
-lyrics.

This part is not mandatory, but it makes it a lot easier for me when I'm creating a directory of all songs, all lyrics, all YouTube videos, etc. And that directory makes it easier for participants to find each other's chosen songs.

ETA
I just had an odd moment where I thought I saw a song in the list and then it wasn't there. Phil Collins something? Three possibilities: either I'm imagining things, OR someone edited their nominations before I refreshed a page, OR I accidentally rejected a nomination. If I have accidentally rejected your nomination, please contact me, and I'm sorry. I have not seen anything that should be rejected thus far.

Thanks to those who've submitted links and information as well as nominations. I realise the tag list block text on AO3 is getting unreadable; I'll be putting up an easier-to-read list in a couple of days.

I will close nominations in roughly 4 hours. If you'd like to add to the 322 songs and music videos already nominated, please go to the tag set in that time.

I will probably not complete the spreadsheet until the same time tomorrow. Meanwhile, please keep sending me links.

Several things:

Nominations are closing in 48 hours (23:59 Thursday 1 August EDT).

As well as the list in the previous post, I've created a Google spreadsheet here to organise songs and links. You can sort this spreadsheet by artist, instead of song title, by choosing View -> List and clicking on the column heading. (Note that once you've chosen List view, you can also adjust the number of rows that appear on a page by specifying them in the field at top right.)

Please take a look, investigate new music, check to see if I've got the right video/audio links and lyrics for the music you're already familiar with, and so forth. If the links or lyrics weren't provided to me, often I've grabbed them from google, quickly and sloppily - there might be better versions I should include. Let me know. The more complete my list is, the faster I can open signups at the end of the nomination process.

I'd like your feedback about usability, too. Is the current list + the google spreadsheet useful for you? Is there another format that might be better? I'm also thinking of embedding the final table of songs and links in the DW and LJ posts - it'll certainly load faster that way. (I'm not sure how good it'll look in mobile view.) Also, aesthetics aren't my strong point, so if you find either the DW or the LJ comm painful to the eye, please speak up.
