Dear Creator Letters 2022 (+ a few other things)

Sign-ups are open through 25 April! That time in your time zone - updated to be a day later than the deadline we gave earlier. See sign-up instructions at the previous post. See updated tables of sources for nominated canons here.

Letters

Letters are optional! Some people like the tradition and the opportunity to organise and format their prompts according to personal style.

If you're writing a letter to potential authors/artists/podfic artists, you can link it here. Please don't link it until it's finished. You can also put your whole letter in a comment or series of comments here, if you don't have another place to host it.

If you write a letter, it must be linked in your sign-up form on AO3 before sign-ups close. Please ensure it's complete and unlocked by the end of 28 April.

If you're wondering what to put in your letter, try browsing through the dear creator or dear writer tags at the community, and use the letters you like as a model.

Here's a possible template for linking:

All requests are also visible on AO3.

Opting out of treats

AO3 now allows users to set their accounts to only accept assigned gifts and not to accept treats, and accounts created after 6 February 2022 have treats disabled by default. If you've chosen not to accept gifts other than your assignment, or if you just don't want treats in general, please note this in your signup. You can also opt out of certain kinds of treats, if for example you'd like art treats but not fic or vice-versa. Otherwise it will be assumed that any treats are welcome and appreciated.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, SarunoHadaki put together a Spotify playlist of the nominated songs for this year!

Finally, a question from the mods

With the requests visible on AO3, and more people using karanguni's exchange app, do people still find letters posts like this one useful? Obviously this one is here and it isn't going anywhere, but we'd like to know how the community feels going forward.
