Author Reveals & Next Time

Authors are now revealed in the collection!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined in.

As usual, at this point, my main regret is that I didn't write all of the stories I was planning to write. Although I also meant to read all the stories by now, and I haven't quite done that.

If you have any thoughts on how the challenge is run, or any suggestions for next time, feel free to discuss in the comments here or on LJ. (And anonymous commenting should be enabled.) Did this year's dates work for you? (Next year I think I'll open the collection on Saturday rather than Friday; Friday was trickier for me than I expected.) Did we need more beta-readers? I think we could have used more pinch hitters, but the people who did put their names down - and write stories - were fantastic.

Oh, I'm pleased to hear that! I have so much fun doing it, so if there's work to be done, it's worth it.

Elanya and I were talking about how the Jukebox collection is rather like an anthology. I'm tempted to try my hand at writing a formal introduction to it next year, you know, one of those editor's essays that talk about all the themes that repeat and resonate through the different pieces.

But by the time I finish doing all the other things I said I'd do (marathoning a canon for a Night on Fic Mountain pinch hit, maybe writing another Night on Fic Mountain pinch hit, writing a Not Ready for Prime Time pinch hit, writing (a) Not Ready for Prime Time treat(s), writing another chapter or two for my earlier Rarewomen story, working on a WIP, and starting my Crossoverings and Exchange at Fic Corner stories........) it might be a bit late.

(you should see the look Joel gives me when I say "I took another pinch hit.")


More seriously, maybe I'll do one as an introduction to next year. :D
