morbane: pohutukawa blossom and leaves (Default)
[personal profile] morbane posting in [community profile] jukebox_fest
I have opened nominations. They will close at midnight Friday 25 April EDT, or 4pm Saturday 26 April NZST. (Here is a countdown to that point.)

Please read the guide below before you nominate, and then come back to this post or its LiveJournal equivalent to comment.

Part 1

To nominate, go to http://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/316 and click the "Nominate" button at the top right. You will need to be signed in with your AO3 account. If you don't have one, request one now - they seem to take about a day to process.

You will see five blank spaces for your nominations.

Very few songs are already listed on the AO3, so you may be creating new fandoms.

The preferred AO3 format for songs and videos is:

Song Name - Artist (Medium)

If you have a specific cover artist in mind, use them.

For example,
Mykonos - Fleet Foxes (Music Video)
Mykonos - Fleet Foxes (Song)
Lilac Wine - Jeff Buckley (Song)
Lilac Wine - Nina Simone (Song)

Please check the spelling carefully when you enter your nominations.

Once you have submitted nominations, you can edit each one until I've checked it over. You can do this by going back to the tag set, clicking "My Nominations", then "Edit". If you want, you can use this function to enter some nominations, submit them, then come back and fill in the rest a little later.

Once I've approved them, it will take about a day before they show up in the tag set. Meanwhile, I'll create a list that will be visible on the LJ and DW journals, in case you want to double-check what's been approved before you nominate something.

Comment or email me (jukebox.mod, at gmail) if you have problems. (If you use a comment, someone else may be able to tell you how they solved the problem before I get around to it.)

Once you have nominated (Part 2)

While I'm approving and cleaning up the nominations, please comment or email with:
-the name of the song
-some online form (YouTube link, etc)
-the genre of the song, if known
-lyrics.

This part is not mandatory, but it makes it a lot easier for me when I'm creating a directory of all songs, all lyrics, all YouTube videos, etc. And that directory makes it easier for participants to find each other's chosen songs.

ETA
I just had an odd moment where I thought I saw a song in the list and then it wasn't there. Phil Collins something? Three possibilities: either I'm imagining things, OR someone edited their nominations before I refreshed a page, OR I accidentally rejected a nomination. If I have accidentally rejected your nomination, please contact me, and I'm sorry. I have not seen anything that should be rejected thus far.

Thanks to those who've submitted links and information as well as nominations. I realise the tag list block text on AO3 is getting unreadable; I'll be putting up an easier-to-read list in a couple of days.
