Hello Jukebox participants! Your assignment is due in under a week!
Time in your timezone
Countdown
Treats can be posted to the same collection until works reveals.
If you're having a problem, please contact me at jukebox.mod@gmail.com! The earlier you let me know of a problem, the better the chance I can do something useful about it. That said...
I will be entirely out of contact from 9pm UTC on 24 May to 6am UTC on 27 May. (I'm at a scout camp. Absolutely no internet. We have one land line and a helicopter pad for emergency services[and a whistle and a light for attracting attention].) I'll get back about 22 hours before the deadline, and will happily deal with any queries then (especially with your drafts)...
tl;dr: there's a bug where a work you post anonymously skips the 'anonymous' part; you can get around it by saving your work as a draft and checking it carefully at that stage.
REVEALS BUG
The problem
The Jukebox collection is set to "unrevealed" and "anonymous" so that the works you submit will stay hidden until the dates on the schedule.
However, AO3 currently has a "reveals bug" that occasionally causes submitted fics to appear immediately, as if you'd posted them outside the collection.
I can't predict when the bug will occur, though it seems to occur more often when AO3 is under strain or when many people are posting at once. By following this tutorial, you can significantly lower the chances that it will affect you.
How to avoid
1. Creating a draft
You need to post a new work to a collection - either by posting to fulfil an assignment or by clicking the ‘Post to Collection’ button at the top of the collection, or by posting a new work from anywhere in the Archive. With the first two methods, the collection will automatically be included in your work’s Association details. With the last method, you’ll have to add it manually. In the New Work page, your Associations should look like this:

(NB: not all collection names autocomplete. It’s okay to enter the collection name and then press enter, tab, or comma to ensure it shows up with the red ‘x’. The correct collection tag is the one that forms part of the collection URL - ie, http://archiveofourown.org/collections/jukebox2018/profile)
At the bottom of the page, choose Preview rather than Post Work.
When the preview loads, check that all your work details are correct, and then at the bottom of the screen, choose Save without posting

You have now saved a draft to the collection. Don’t navigate away from this page just yet.
Shortcut: If you like, instead of proceeding, you can ask a mod if your draft is affected by the bug (by emailing jukebox.mod@gmail.com). I will be able to tell you once you've saved a draft. Otherwise, continue through this guide.
2. Check your draft
At the top of your newly saved work, several messages will appear.

If you see the third message, you are safe to continue posting your draft. Your work is not affected by the bug.
If you click away from this page and don’t see any messages, then you’ll need to start over (or contact a mod).
If you see the message about a draft (after you've clicked Save Without Posting) but you don’t see the message about the collection, you have been hit by the bug! Please contact jukebox.mod@gmail.com privately and ask me to fix your work. Once we have done that, you can post your draft. (Or you can delete your work and try again. You'll still be able to fulfil your assignment.)
3. Posting your work from a draft
First, click ‘Edit’ on your draft. If you’ve navigated away from your draft, you can find all your drafts from your own AO3 dashboard:

Once you’ve clicked Edit, go to the bottom of your draft and click Post Without Preview.

Once you’ve clicked this, you have successfully posted your work and avoided the bug. You can find your work again, if you want to edit it, through your Works then Works in Collections, or through your Stats page. The bug only strikes when a work is first uploaded, so edit with confidence.
This year we have many pinch hitters who aren't signed up for the challenge!
If any of you would like to give prompts that are based on songs and music videos, in case someone is inspired to create a gift, you are welcome to comment to this post or the LJ equivalent with your prompts. Thank you!
