I would really love to know more about this group of friends. What are their relationships and backstories? What happened to them during or after the war? The song sounds very nostalgic, which makes me wonder: did one of them die in the war? Or maybe no one died but there was some big change to their relationships or personal lives or the world around them. I do not particularly care what time period in history this is set in or even what country, honestly. If you would like to do some interesting and original world-building, it could be set in a fantasy world. (However, please no apocalypse or dystopia settings.)
For whatever reason, I always headcanon the narrator and the “you” as siblings, but they don’t have to be. While I imagine the narrator as male (probably because of the singer’s gender) the “you” doesn’t have a definite gender in the song, so if the “canon” couple are two girls, that would be fine by me.

This song gives off a very haunting, somewhat hopeless feel. I want to know about the (past?) relationship of the people involved and where they are now in their lives. There appear to be vestiges of something broken in this song and I feel like the narrator is very protective of the addressee while also pushing them away. I would just like to know these people and their story is whether or not they get a happy ending. (Whether they do or not is completely up to you.)
I would prefer a real-world, realistic (i.e. without supernatural or magical elements) setting. I would also prefer m/m slash. Failing that, a gen take on the song would also be interesting.

This song is sad and romantic and somehow nostalgic all at once. I want to know about what happened to the narrator’s lover and why they are (seemingly) no longer together or at least near each other. I am not asking for a literal, WWII, interpretation, but rather something dealing with the broader themes of love and war and death, and taking its cues from the music: there's the love song aspect the Lili Marleen part (though that itself becomes rather martial in the introduction), the way the music veers off into horror, the quietly reflective and chilling Todesfugue section (and Celan's words are certainly evocative and ambiguous enough to inspire any number of interpretations)...

Will the king put aside the queen for the duck seller, or does he want the duck seller for something else to the detriment of the queen? Perhaps this is only an incident in the story of one of the ducks/princes, or in the relationship of the queen and the duck seller? Or is the duck seller merely idly dreaming?

The abbey the beautiful Doette founds, which becomes grand and powerful, is allegedly in honour of Saint Paul, and Doette speaks of mortifying herself with a hair shirt, but much of the emphasis seems to be on love, not religion: the feast false lovers are unable to enter, the gathering together of those who have suffered for love. I'd love more about the abbey and its beautiful abbess - I imagine it along the lines of some of the mysterious palaces that litter Arthurian legend. Perhaps a sort of chanson d'aventure where the protaganist ends up at the abbey?

I love the idea behind this video and I would like to see another person going through this type of situation but maybe realizing they are dead or are dying. In the case that they were dying, would they choose to go back or keep living in the seemingly neverending happiness of death?
Alternatively, I wouldn't mind seeing the video told through thoughts of the man. Or maybe the band themselves act to help people crossover and accept that they are dead or are a welcome committee to them.

I want to know more about their personalities and they get along and such. Them being aliens stranded on Earth is a fun idea to explore, which makes more sense as to why they're hunted after so hard, but whatever is good.

Do they live in a special part of a city or is there a whole town of awesome partygoers who are different and unique and raise their kids to be open-minded and awesome? Do they live in a dystopia perhaps? I could go for a bit of worldbuilding here, lol.
