The reason for my oversight is that I don't think of "The Grid" as an abstract thing that that you may not understand completely. It doesn't have characters or a clear sense of plot, certainly, but I think it creates a sense of setting very clearly: The Grid is urban, it is hectic, it is sprawling, it is freaky but not scary, it is full of eerie symmetries, and it is full of motion that never seems to get anywhere. I don't think any of that is really up for interpretation. And I would love to see stories in that setting. But I will just have to wait and request it at Yuletide again.
