So many complicated feelings come through for Didi - there's so much to read into those joint-storytelling sessions, and what feelings she might have had at the time about encouraging Jamie's sense of his father's work - I really like how you leave it ambiguous whether she thought at the time that they had more than they needed, or whether she's been thinking it more lately, or at some point in between.... The two lines about the dining set are perfect.
