I looked up from the feminist critique of _Almost Famous_ that I was reading. "You know, if you don't mind my asking, are you a Manic Pixie Dream Girl?"

She smiled. "Well, I do know a little bit of Cornish. So there's that evidence of piksie-hood."

I raised an eyebrow at her, and she said -- a lot of syllables. I don't know any Cornish. However, there was the more obvious issue. "I thought fairies couldn't lie."

"That's the Sidhe," she said breezily. "Pixies are well known for spinning tall tales, because they embrace the idea that what is more beautiful is more true, so they never let facts get in the way. Give any pixie the Choice of Achilles, and they'll pick Legend over Life anyday."

"Now who's mixing their mythoses?" I paused, uncertain as I so often am. "Mythoi?"

She waved off grammar as she waved off anything in her way. "I have plenty of ways of being right."
